In the Next Room
tailoring by
Janson Fangio
For this production the FAC costume shop, under my management, built from scratch 6 full length skirts, 8 draped over skirts, 10 bodices, 3 corsets, 2 corset covers, 3 chemises and/or drawers, 3 petticoats, 2 crinoline bustle supports, 2 mens frock coats, 2 mens shirts, 3 vests, 4 pairs of trousers, and 4 detachable collars, all within the space of about 3.5 weeks.
As this was early in my first season as the costume shop manager for the CSFACTC, I had yet to build relationships with competent stitchers from around the community or to train up new ones. I had only 3 people in addition to me to help build the show, some of which had never built a full garment from scratch before; to their credit, they learned fast and worked hard. I still, however, made much of it all myself. Click on either "Womens" or "Mens" for a closer look.
