Dracula
Tailoring by
Janson Fangio
For this production of Dracula the FAC costume shop, under my management, built 64 items from scratch including, but not limited to 7 full length skirts, 6 bodices, 1 corset, 1 chemise, 1 pair of drawers, 5 night gowns, 2 aprons, 6 mens coats, 5 mens vests, 6 pairs of trousers, 4 over-coats/capes, 5 neckties/stocks, 4 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of suspenders, 2 detachable collars, 2 belts, 1 knife shoulder holster, and 1 hat all within the space of about 3.5 weeks. Unlike In the Next Room 3 years prior, I had by this point built up a great team of regular competent stitchers. Even so, due to the sheer size and style of this Victorian Gothic horror piece, with it's scope of time and place, it's conceits of style and fantasy, and its blood...lots and LOTS of BLOOD, I ended up making nearly half of all that was built myself; of the 64 items built from scratch, I personally made 28.
