I am: a theatrical costume designer, a seasoned costume shop manager and a self-taught tailor with a particular interest in men's fine bespoke tailoring.
I hold a BA in Theatre, emphasis in performance, from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. I studied theatre and the humanities for 2 summers in England and Scotland and performed in shows for both the 2004 and 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. As a costumer and tailor I am mostly self taught and have a passion for fine tailoring and historic reenactment. I spent 3 years as a resident alterations tailor for the historic 5 star, 5 diamond Broadmoor hotel/resort in Colorado Springs, CO. I held the position of Costume Shop Manager/resident Costume designer for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Theatre Company from 2011 to 2017.
I strongly believe that my training as an actor alongside my time as a professional alterations tailor gives me a unique perspective as a designer, both from a story-telling point of view as well as a precision skill-level one. These qualities put me one step ahead of so many others in the costuming field.
Please take a look at my work; this site has three separate portfolios, each dedicated respectively to my personal tailoring work, my design work, and my costume build management work.
